We had our own little personal balcony/room and had a great view of the whole stage and orchestra below. We had a good time, but soon realized we should have read the storyline before we went. Duh. There were a couple of times we leaned over and asked each other what was happening. It was kind of all over the place (see the plot). There was a little translation marquee that showed the words in English, but still didn't help us. Haha! We had such a great time and are looking forward to our next one.
There were also creepy clowns in this opera. No good. I have an absurd fear of clowns. I think it's because I watched "It" by Stephen King when I was little. It also may be the fact that I don't understand why grown men and women enjoy putting oversize colorful clothes on, painting their faces with fake smiles, wearing wigs around a bald spot, and chasing small children around everywhere. I know it's supposed to be fun, but it's wierd. These opera clowns were extra creepy, but I was far enough away. Just a mini panic attack. If you study the picture to the left you'll see why I could possibly be skeeeerd. I'll probably have a nighmare tonight just from looking at this. Awesome. P.S. Sorry if there are any clowns reading this. I don't know if I have any friends who are clowns though. I think clown is the only group I openly discrimintate against.
Au revoir!
